Brought up in a mining village on the outskirts of Sheffield in South Yorkshire , B.A. was a product of the swinging sixties . His mum was a singer in a band and his two sisters were constantly playing sixties & seventies music so his musical education started at an early age . Taking up the acoustic guitar at primary school , he then progressed at secondary school onto the bass guitar , early synthesisers and drum machines . Forming his first rock band with some school friends his first gig was at Rotherham Arts Centre . Sadly this enterprise came to a swift end when he fell off his motorbike and smashed his bass guitar which he was carrying on his back . A hiatus followed while B.A. pursued a military career , got married , had two wonderful kids , sadly divorced and was retired due to injury. He took up the acoustic guitar again to teach his son who had started learning at school . This renewed interest led to him regularly supporting an ‘open mic night’ at a pub in Lancashire playing bass guitar once again . He met Deano there in 2008 and they formed the first line-up of The DEAL . B.A. is now a full-time musician , photographer , biker and man of leisure .
